to tastefresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the ground beef over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until the beef is browned and the onions are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain any excess grease from the skillet. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes to combine flavors.
In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Top with a third of the remaining meat sauce, followed by a layer of cheddar and mozzarella cheese. If desired, sprinkle diced pickles over the cheese.
Repeat this layering process two more times, ending with a final layer of noodles, remaining sauce, and a generous sprinkle of cheese on top.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley, if using.
Notes
Optional pickles and parsley can enhance the flavor and presentation.
