Instructions
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
Sprinkle the flour over the garlic and butter mixture, whisking continuously for about 1 minute to create a roux.
Gradually pour in the heavy cream while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
Continue to cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
Stir in the Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Cook for an additional minute, then remove from heat.
Adjust seasoning to taste and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
